Clinical reasoning, or clinical decision making, is a complex, contextualised and interactive phenomenon, not just a process. Do we understand how we go about this and can the literature on this in other health professions throw light on our understanding? This session will look at different types of knowledge and with discussion, will consider different types of reasoning, illuminating these ideas with case histories. Case histories will be provided in advance of the conference.
