The BAcC has four types of member:

Full: Eligibility for full membership is automatically granted to practitioners graduating from teaching institutions accredited by the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board (BAAB). Practitioners trained elsewhere have to make written application and attend for interview to demonstrate they have the same level of training and competence.

A guide to the registration process for new graduates can be downloaded here: Information for students about to graduate

Guidelines for practitioners trained elsewhere can be downloaded here: Admissions Procedure

How to start the Application Process.

For overseas members returning to the UK and applying for full UK membership, this policy is applicable: Overseas Members Returning to UK Practice

Provisional membership: This is offered to applicants who need further skills or training in order to become Full members.

Non-Practising membership: This category is for practitioner members who temporarily cease practising but who want to continue to receive the usual mailings.

Overseas membership: These are members based outside the UK who wish to remain in touch with developments in the UK. The BAcC does not provide insurance for them, nor has it any day-to-day jurisdiction over their activities.

Non-Practising and Provisional members do not appear in the public register.
