Jeep Brouwer Radio Essex Interview

BAcC member Joop Brouwer interviewed on Radio Essex (March 2008), discussed traditional acupuncture and answered listener questions relating to health problems and acupuncture. He explained the role of Qi, yin and yang, emotions and the wholeness of mind, body & spirit in traditional Chinese medicine. How acupuncture needles access Qi, the sensation of De Qi, and what to expect from a treatment including the diagnostic process. Explained that the acupuncturist creates individual treatment plans for each patient and spends time in the consultation to get to the root of the problem, so no two people with the same ailment get the same treatment. Mentioned the role of acupuncture in integrated healthcare and working with GPs for the benefit of patients. He explained the length of time taken to study acupuncture and the depth of study involved including western bio sciences and chinese medicine theory and gave the BAcC website address for help locating an acupuncturist.
