Anxiety Research Project Launches

Anxiety Research Project Launches

To promote Mental Health Awareness Week (13-19th May), The British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) has partnered with Anxiety UK, the country's leading anxiety disorders charity to launch a joint research project and increase awareness of how traditional acupuncture can help those with anxiety disorders.

The project, which launches this week, aims to gather greater information about how anxiety affects the lives of millions of people in the UK, coping strategies of sufferers and insights from BAcC acupuncturists into trends and patterns seen in clinics across the UK.

Caroline Lane, Marketing Manager at The BAcC comments: "As traditional acupuncture can be enormously beneficial for anxiety, we feel it's important that those suffering with the condition are better informed about how complementary therapies can help so they can make an informed decision regarding their treatment. This research will provide us with a much greater understanding of anxiety disorders and we welcome your support to help make this project a success."

Anxiety UK CEO Nicky Lidbetter adds: "Anxiety UK signposts and offers its members access to a wide range of support and advice and know from the experiences of many of our members and even our own staff that a variety of complementary therapies including acupuncture can be helpful in relieving and reducing the symptoms of anxiety.
"This research will help to give us a greater understanding of the value and benefits of acupuncture."

The study is based on voluntary participation and no personal information will be collected. Responses will be kept anonymous and evaluated only by the team at Pegasus. To take part in our short survey, please follow the links below:
